In Spring 2024, KAMA Philanthropic Fund awarded over $68,000 in donations to the community and scholarships for medical and nursing students.
Funds were awarded to support the KAMA scholarship endowments at the Quillen College of Medicine, University of Tennessee Health Science Center, University of Tennessee College of Nursing, Tennessee Wesleyan University Fort Sanders Nursing School and Pellissippi State Community College Nursing Program.
Funds for additional scholarships were awarded to the Pellissippi State Community College Nursing Program and Lincoln Memorial University Caylor School of Nursing.
Recipients of KAMA Philanthropic Health Grants include the CCETN Samaritan Place, Cancer Support Center, Emerald Youth Foundation, Family Justice Center, Interfaith Health Clinic, K.A.P.A. Kitchen, Metro Drug Coalition, Random Acts of Flowers, Restoration House, Smiles for Hope, St. Mary’s Legacy Clinic, and THRIVE.
Through the KAMA Health Promotions committee, the Philanthropic Fund also sponsors programs through partnerships in our community. We have provided support through donations of supplies and educational materials to the Vine School Health Center and the Family Justice Center. We have continued our support of MDC’s Gateway project. And through our KAMA First Hand program, our members provide meals to families at Ronald McDonald House.
